Authentic, accessible, and responsive with a heart to serve and a spirit of adventure are all attributes that has endeared Susan Saurastri to her community and the client's she serves throughout Orange County, California.
A native New Yorker who enjoys globe trotting, she met and married Pankaj Saurastri, of India, 38 years ago. They live in Fountain Valley where Susan serves on the Board of Directors for the Fountain Valley Schools Foundation. With every home Susan sells she donates $500 to encourage and elevate the education of students in the arts and music programs.
Since 2017, Susan has contributed her expertise to the Fountain Valley Housing and Community Development Advisory Board. To further educate and inform the public, Susan serves on the advisory board of FV Living Magazine and communicates her passion for all things real estate by writing a monthly column. Since 2014, Susan has encouraged young women to expand their horizons by supporting the Miss FV Scholarship Foundation.
Susan is the 2023 Volunteer of the Year, voted by her peers of the Orange County Association of Realtors. She is also the 2022 recipient of the Fountain Valley Rotary's Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year award.
Her community involvement has extended to greeting Olympic visitors, volunteering at the Poker Tournament, and providing a Little Free Library at her home to encourage literacy in kids and adults. Her support of all things community is expressed by her continuous support of the FVPD Olympic Torch Run and other Police and Fire related events. Susan is also a champion of the Community Foundation in support of the Veteran’s Banner program, Concerts in the Park, Summerfest, Movies in the Park, and all events and programs that elevate the lives of our neighbors. As a member of the FV Woman's Club Susan supports the city's oldest non-profit organization.
As an advocate and cheerleader for its causes and as a member of the Orange County Association of Realtors, Susan supports the Chamber of Commerce. Music and dancing provide a joyful reprieve from her busy life. She and her husband enjoy entertaining friends at home. Susan is an avid reader and participates in a monthly book club. Tranquility and balance are acquired in the sanctuary of her backyard garden. Sometimes, when moonlight fills the nighttime sky, Susan can be found writing short stories about the people she’s met and everyday encounters.
